About

TRANSFARI is a research project that investigates the historical development and the multiple manifestations of the phenomenon of the Greek far right through the lens of transnational theory and histoire croisée. Its central premise is that the Greek far right, in most of its embodiments, formed part of a wider European political community and a transnational political and cultural milieu. Building on this premise the project seeks to highlight the interactions between the Greek and the European far right by mapping their interconnections, elective affinities, shared practices, and the networks of cooperation they established, with a focus on specific countries.

The research team draws on a wide range of primary and secondary sources in order to offer an innovative scholarly contribution to the expanding discussion on the Greek far right, given that the transnational dimension of the phenomenon has not, to date, been the subject of systematic study.

The research project “Transnational Entanglements of the Greek Far Right, 1965-2020” is implemented in the framework of H.F.R.I call “3rd Call for H.F.R.I.’s Research Projects to Support Faculty Members & Researchers” (H.F.R.I. Project Number: 26427) and its Host Institution is Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences.
